Many All-Time Highs in Every Bull Rally
In every strong bull rally, one important pattern stands out — the asset hits many all-time highs. A good example of this is gold. This pattern is not just for gold; it applies to any chart — whether it’s a stock, sector, index, or commodity. In the 1970s bull rally, gold made an all-time high 209 times. During the 2010–2011 rally, gold hit an all-time high 106 times. In the current rally, as of April 2025, gold has already hit all-time highs 76 times.

The Count May Vary, But the Pattern Is Strong
It is difficult to say how many times an asset will make new highs in a rally. It could be 76, 106, or even 209 times — or maybe more, or less. But one thing is certain: when any stock, index, or commodity keeps making new highs again and again, it is a strong sign of a powerful bull rally. It shows strong momentum and a lot of interest in that asset class. So instead of being afraid of all-time highs, one should feel encouraged by them.
All-Time Highs Are a Positive Signal
Many people worry when they see prices hitting all-time highs. But actually, these highs can be a sign of strength. If an asset is consistently making new highs, it means buyers are confident and prices are rising with strong support. This is a time when the trend is very strong, and the asset is in a strong uptrend.

Historical Rally Comparison in Gold
Let’s also look at past gold rallies (See the image). The 2007–2010 rally had one pattern. The 1972 and 1978 rallies had their own moves. The current rally in 2024 also follows a similar pattern. If we compare all these past movements, we get an average line. Based on this average, gold still has a long way to go.
How High Can Gold Go?
If the rally repeats what happened in 1978, gold might reach $10,000. If it follows the 2007 rally pattern, then it could go up to $5,000. So far, we are just near the average zone. The fact that so many all-time highs have already come together is a very positive sign — especially for international gold priced in dollars.
