FAQ #6

In my Smallcase portfolio, can I replace LIQUIDBEES with other Debt Instruments like a Fixed Deposit that offer better returns ?

The objective of adding LIQUIDBEES to our portfolios is to temporarily park funds in a safe & liquid instrument till those funds are allocated back to equities when opportunities arise. We may not want to ponder over generating returns with such temporary allocations.

We would also like to convey that the process of replacing a Smallcase component with an external instrument like an FD can get extremely complicated in terms of managing the composition of the portfolio since the weightage will certainly get disturbed owing to the absence of one of the portfolio’s components (LIQUIDBEES).

You may also have to play a more active / tedious role in managing the portfolio’s funds within and outside of the Smallcase platform which defeats the original purpose of a Smallcase which is its “Few Clicks” seamless management and execution process.
